Shreya to walk the red carpet at Toronto film fest
lineup of Indian films this year. The two Bollywood entries are Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s
Your Raashee, and first time director Anurag Singh’s Dil Bole Hadippa. Both share a common
trait. They’re both female-centric products from a film industry notorious for male
domination. And now Dilip Mehta; brother of Deepa Mehta, has just been selected for the
Toronto Film Festival. He has been selected in the prestigious Gala section that opens the
festival, where Jon Amiel’s Creation a biopic on Charles Darwin is being premiered.
Dilip who has earlier made a much-acclaimed documentary on Indian widows is singularly
kicked by the honour. “The Toronto International Film Festival is, after Cannes,
undoubtedly the most significant festival worldwide.
To have one’s film participate in it is glory enough, but to have a Gala screening, and a world premiere is mind-blowing.” This was the very section where Dilip’s sister Deepa’s elegiac Water had been premiered in Toronto, two years ago. Dilip’s film is in a different mood space. “For 34 years I have covered death, misfortune, war, plagues and other human tragedies for Time, Newsweek, National Geographic and other such major journals. I entered the world of cinema with The Forgotten Woman, a hard documentary to portray the reality of the widows of India. Similarly, Cooking With Stella, also looks at a classic Indian tragedy, that of servants and employers but without wanting to give a lecture on morality.”
Cooking With Stella was short listed for the Opening Gala of the Toronto festival, along
with Creation. Says Dilip, “For me as first-time feature director, this was such a
tremendous high to have our film in the company of such an amazing film. Creation nipped us
all in the post, but we were right up there. TIFF selected Cooking With Stella for a Gala
screening for our world premiere on September 16.” Seema Biswas and Shreya Saran will be there, gracing the red carpet. Enthuses Dilip, “The numbers are daunting. Approximately 3000 plus films are submitted for TIFF, which along with Cannes is the most significant film festival in the world today. Of these 350- plus are selected for the Festival of which 15 or so have the distinction of a Gala screening at the amazing Roy Thomson Hall.”

Marmayogi Photo Shoot
In his last 'Dasavatharam', he played 10 different roles which were strikingly different from one other and caricatured his emoting skills to a new level.
For his next venture, 'Marma Yogi' Kamal Haasan had reportedly used the 'spray makeup' technique during the photo shoot. This has so far been used only in Hollywood and Kamal is reportedly the first to bring it to the Indian film industry. The advantage of using 'spray makeup' is that it gives a uniform color to the face and body.
'Marma Yogi' is being directed by the actor himself with Trisha and Shreya playing the heroines. Kamal Haasan is sure a boon to the tinsel Ville who surges Tamil movies to a global reach.

Marmayogi will put an end to Pyramid Saimira
Well, producing a movie worth Rs.100Crores is not as easy of ordering pizzas from your nearest centres. It's a risky project and for sure making a film centered on back old 7th century requires lots of courage. Of course, Kamal Haasan is a man of experiments whose desires are to take Tamil Cinema to the higher level in the category of World Cinema. But, none of the team members are sure about the film making high collections in box-office. For instances, take the list of Kamal Haasan's exceptional films, 'Aalavandhan', 'Hey Ram', 'Anbe Sivam' and more. These movies won laurels across certain audiences and honored with awards , but their collections at box-office weren't so pleasing. So, let's wait and see how Kamal Haasan tries something different in hitting bull 's eyes at both box office and getting it nominated for world famous awards.

Vikram to dance with Shreya and Mumaith Khan
Vikram-starrer Kanthasamy is taking a long time to complete and yet it always pops up in the news for different reasons. A while ago, a song sequence shot in Mexico has attracted a lot of interest in the film. In this song based on the famous bullfights of Mexico, both Vikram and Shreya were dressed as matadors.
Now, the makers of Kanthasamy have decided to cash in on the item number frenzy in Indian films by roping in hot and sexy Mumaith Khan for a song. Moreover, it will also be a remix of an old hit (comedy actor Chandrababu's 'Pambarak Kannale Kadhal...'). Mumaith will shake a leg with Vikram in the song.
Kanthasamy is directed by Susi Ganesan, who had earlier directed films like Virumbugiren, Thiruttu Payale and Five Star.
The film already has the very hot Shreya as heroine. With Mumaith also appearing in an item number song, there is no doubt that the screen will be scorched by these two beauties. With so much to expect from the film, it is no wonder audiences are eagerly waiting for it to release.

Shobana in Marmayogi
My goodness! The list of heroines for Marmayogi keeps extending and we think Kamal Haasan should be feeling enough with it. After roping in Hema Malini, Trisha and Shreya, the latest heroine joining the long queue is none other than actress Shobana who has been the classiest performer of all times. She has earlier paired up with Kamal Haasan for the film 'Enakkul Oruvan' and now she has been offered to play a meaty role.
Shooting for the film would commence by next month in Mumbai and major portion is scheduled at Southern, Western and interiors of Karnataka. Again, a photo shoot involving Kamal Haasan and Shobana would be held at AVM Studios while rest of the heroines Trisha and Shriya are involved in vivid practice of enunciating Tamil dialogues in the style of back ancient days of 7th Century.
